Nokia 5.4 spotted with Android 12 on Geekbench
Although no roadmap was ever released for Android 12, Nokia Mobile seems to have been holding up to “some” of its promises. Earlier today, the Nokia 5.4 was spotted on Geekbench running on Android 12. The Nokia 5.4 was released back in 2020 and is actually one of the last few Nokia phones with a little bit of Finnish identity albeit with a minuscule sense.
The smartphone initially launched with Android 10 but was able to proceed to Android 11 last year. Since the phone is currently being tested for Android 12, users should expect that the upcoming update will mark its end of support for software upgrades. However, the Finns will continue pushing monthly security updates for the next two years to keep user transactions safe.
As for the data listed on the benchmarking website, there is about a 13% improvement on the multi-core score and a 0.6% increase on the single-core score versus the latest Android 11 version. Not that these numbers matter. After all, synthetic benchmarks don’t represent real-world usage.
As a recap, the Nokia 5.4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC with up to 6GB of RAM. The display is of an IPS technology with HD+ resolution, while the camera is led by a 48MP sensor, supplemented with a 5MP ultra-wide and two 2MP quad-camera tagline filler sensors.
Regardless of its obvious flaws, the design is still far more tolerable than the one we have now on the replacement G Series. Just saying.
