#Nokia squeezed 200 Gb/s per wavelength through optic fibre
|My network operator is happily charging me a massive Internet speed of 12 Mbps (download, upload speed do not want to mention) monthly. In the meantime, Nokia managed to squeeze 200 Gb/s through the optical cable on a single wavelength. They did it for New Zealand’s company Spark that will now have lower costs and raise customer bandwidth on existing network infrastructure. Spark used Nokia’s PSS1830 Optical Transport network (OTN) which effectively doubled the capacity while reducing the price per bit. Everything was achieved with the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch.
Hope my internet provider is reading this, and I will happily contact Nokia representatives for them.
