Nokia Mobile applies for HMD Connect trademark
|Last year, the maker of Nokia phones HMD Global announced their first service called HMD Connect. HMD Connect is a data SIM service that targets customer that travel a lot offering global roaming, which unfortunately came at the time when global travel nosedived because of COVID. There is also HMD Connect Pro, that offers business a way to manage all their SIM cards across the globe.
At the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), HMD submitted a request to register HMD Connect as their trademark. The request was made on 5th January this year, with the trademark status set as “Application under examination”.
There is nothing new in companies applying to protect the names of their products, in fact it is needed to prevent potential lawsuits from companies that manage to register the name first. You can check the application at EUIPO by clicking here.
