Official launch page for Nokia Smart TV says 10th December start of sale UPDATED

Flipkart has put online the official launch page of the Nokia Smart TV. The 55-inch 4K Smart TV will exclusively be available in India via Flipkart. The sale is expected to start at noon on 10th December.

The Nokia Smart TV is a project under Nokia’s brand partnership model. Flipkart will be fully responsible for bringing the device to market, while Nokia will make sure the iconic Finnish brand isn’t misused.

Flipkart’s launch page says the TV will be powered by “PureX quad-core processor”, coupled with 2.25GB of RAM. Intelligent Dimming Technology, Dolby Vision and HDR 10 are also on board, as well as Dolby Audio, Dolby Digital and DTS TruSurround technologies. It also features something called Clear View and Clear Sound technology. With Android 9 being the OS, the TV also has Google Assistant and hotkeys for Netflix and YouTube, which I guess are on the remote.

Details about PureX or most of the mentioned technologies (excluding industry standard stuff like Dolby tech and HDR10) are still unknown. So is the price of this device. More details should be available as we get closer to sale start.

Update: The price has also been released. The first Nokia Android Smart TV will retail at Rs. 41,999 (530 euros, 588 US dollars).
