Nokia 6.1 Plus August update removes the option to hide the notch + one of finest Nokia Mobile Twitter responses
|HMD Global started pushing the first update for the new Nokia 6.1 Plus, and users from India are reporting that the updates disables the ability to hide the notch. Alongside the August security pacth, the update also brings system stability improvements and is 380MB in size.
One of the “improvements” is removing the options to hide the notch on Nokia 6.1 Plus. In general, I don’t like to see removing any features, especially a feature such as “hide the notch”, that is the default for Nokia 5.1 Plus in Europe, at least on Nokia Mobile websites. My guess is that the removal was a mistake, and that the option will be back in a future update.
Thanks for the love. Be sure to register at https://t.co/waNGfPppQ8 for updates.

HMD’s Global head of portfolio Pranav Shroff confirmed on Twitter that his Nokia 6.1 Plus also got the latest update, mentioning Nokia Mobile in his Tweet. Nokia Mobile responded thanking Pranav for the love and asking him to sign up at Nokia.com/phones for updates on Nokia Mobile news and products. This approach shows us that Nokia Mobile values every customer the same, doesn’t matter if the customer is a high ranking executive in the company.
All jokes aside, a less bottish Social Media team would be welcomed. As well as as updates that don’t remove features from phones. I hope that will soon be fixed.
Thanks MichealsoftSirFaceFone for the tip.
