March (2019) security patch available for Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 (2017)

The delayed security patch for March started Rolling out to affected Nokia devices this week, just like Nokia Mobile announced. The update was delayed for Nokia 2, 5, 6 and 8 because of an issue that required further testing.

Nokia 8 started receiving the March 2019 security patch yesterday, while users report that the patch is rolling out right now to the Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 5 (2017). The update sizes are unusually big for security patch (that is only mentioned in the changelog), so I suspect that there are some under the hood improvements bundled as well. The update size for Nokia 6 is 375MB, while Nokia 5’s update is 267MB in size. In comparison, yesterday’s update for Nokia 8 was less than 100MB in size.
