Android 9 Pie update for Nokia 6, Nokia 8 in India planned before MWC19

Nokia Mobile still has phones to update to the latest version of Android, Android 9 Pie. Till now, about half of the portfolio has been updated to Pie, while for some phones the update is still being rolled out. Some phones that should get Pie before HMD’s MWC19 event are the Nokia 6, which required further optimizations because of Dolby Audio and Nokia 8, which had network problems in India.

 

Team is working hard to get it out next week. We are actually planning on having quite a lot of ? before MWC but here’s where you need to remember that we won’t release if the quality is not there. Rest assured that we are on it and almost done

HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas said via Twitter that they plan more Pie updates before MWC19, so I guess Nokia 3.1 Plus will be there as well. We need to be aware that if an update isn’t ready, Nokia Mobile cannot release it, no matter how many questions they get asked. That means that there is always a possibility of updates being delayed.
