First update for Nokia 8.3 5G brings new Android 10 build, September patch, 4G+5G dual SIM standby and new location for Night Mode in camera app

In its first weeks of global availability, Nokia 8.3 5G already received its first update that brings improvement to Nokia Mobile’s affordable 5G flagship. The update for the 8.3 comes with the Android September 2020 patch from Google, network management improvements and UX improvements in the camera app.

The mentioned network management improvements is the option for 4G+5G dual SIM standby. Nokia 8.3 5G seems to be the first phone with Snapdragon 765G to support this feature. The UX improvement in camera app is the decision to move the night mode from “more” section into the camera carousel by default.

The update comes with Android 10 build V1.100 and is 1.99GB in size. Nokia Mobile probably squeezed more improvements in that 2GBs, because the official changelog mentions the usual “Improved system stability” and “UI enhancements”. I would recommend elaborating more on what gets delivered with an update and maybe consider some custom experience for presenting the new feature in changelog, because some vendors started doing that and it feels quite good to exactly know what is new.
