Update: Nokia 9 PureView received Android 9 Pie build update that brings many improvements

HMD Global released another software update for Nokia 9 PureView that brings improvements across the device. The latest update is actually a Pie Build v4.22C, and it is 250.4 MB large. The official update release statement mentioned it brings improvements to the system stability, UI enhancements, and the latest Google security patch for April.

The specific details about the update werent provided by HMD, but the users of Nokia 9 PV (TechAltar specifically) stated that the Camera firmware has been updated together with touch panel firmware as well as the camera app. TechAltar also mentioned that the under display fingerprint scanner is more responsive after the update and that the display colors have been calibrated and are much better now.

If you are an owner of the Penta-camera device wonder, check if the update is available for it. We would appreciate if you could tell us what else is new and how does your 9 PV behave after the update, especially the camera and fingerprint scanner that seems to be the main problem.

After TechAltar tested Nokia 9 PureView thoroughly, Nokioteca also confirmed that HMD improved the following:

  • Fingerprint reader
  • Camera app?
  • Screen color calibration
  • HDR
  • Oversharpened JPGs
  • Weird skin colors
  • Overexposed photos
  • Face unlock goes straight to phone
  • Other smaller bugs

Thanks guys for testing it so quickly 🙂
