Nokia C01 Plus is officially the new member of the C series
|Today, Nokia Mobile expanded the C series with the new Nokia C01 Plus. The device carries forward the name of the last year’s Nokia C1 Plus with a slight improvement in its specifications.
With a tad boxy appearance as Nokia 1 Plus, the Nokia C01 Plus now has a textured back that comes in Blue and Purple colors. It houses a 5.45-inch HD+ screen and a removable 3000 mAh battery that charges at a rate of 5 V, 1 A (5 W). The rear and front camera setup are the same, i.e., a 5 MP shooter and a LED flash.
Similar to Nokia C3 and Nokia C20, Nokia C01 Plus is also using a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor in the form of Unisoc SC9863A. The device operates on Android 11 Go and supports face unlock. It has a 1 GB RAM variant coupled with 32 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB.
The other specifications include:
- Model Numbers: TA-1379, TA-1382, TA-1383, TA-1387, TA-1391
- Dimensions: 148 x 71.8 x 9.3 mm
- Weight: 157 g
- Display Resolution: 1440 x 720 p
- Aspect Ratio: 18:9
- Ports: 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB
- Connectivity: 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (b/g/n), GPS/AGPS
- Sensors: Accelerometer (G-sensor), Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor
Although it is a low-end device, Nokia Mobile claims that the Nokia C01 Plus, with its polycarbonate body, has crossed heat and humidity testing and various durability and force testing like bending and twisting. The smartphone is already up for pre-orders in Russia for 6490 ₽ (€73, ₹6540, US$90). Apart from that, it should also be heading to Latin America and possibly some other regions.
Unlike the X or G series, it might be a bit difficult to make a proper differentiation within the C series. For example, Nokia C2 was announced after the Nokia C1, but then came the Nokia C1 Plus. Fast forward to April 2021, we got the Nokia C10. Except for the Nokia C1 and Nokia C10, which are 3G devices, all the other C series phones support 4G. So, does that mean Nokia C10 is the successor of the Nokia C1?
Anyways, it should not matter as only HMD Global knows its strategy the best. The company has been pretty consistent with the launch of C series devices. The next Nokia smartphone should be the Nokia C20 Plus, which will make its debut in China on June 11, and the Nokia C30 should follow soon afterward.
