Nokia XR20 to discover America with B&H pre-order up and running

In a smartphone market where sub 150€ phones are becoming more dominant sales, it is hard to push something that sounds like an entry phone but actually isn’t. The good approach for selling affordable phones, which are more lucrative for the manufacturer, is by launching a nonlucrative flagship model, and then scaling down some bits and parts to the affordable classes. Nokia Mobile is still not able to do that yet, so the company relies on the powerful brand, its values generated in the past, on design, and most recently durability.

By relying on these brand values, improved build, and hopefully quality, Nokia Mobile will try to gain some traction in the US market. This particular market is mostly driven by carriers that prefer big brands, which then award them lucratively for their place in carrier stores. Since Nokia Mobile can’t afford that, B&H and other electronics stores are a good place to get some coverage.
Currently, the toughest Nokia device, besides the original 3310, is available in preorders at B&H. The price for the current king of rugged phones is set at $549.99.

For the price, customers are getting a solid mid-range smartphone with a durable body that has a military-grade certification (MIL-STD-810H) and an IP68 rating. There is an SD480 5G chipset, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the 6.8 inch LCD screen, a 48MP main camera with ZEISS lens, 15W wireless charging, stereo speakers, a barometer, and a 4630mAh battery.

Some might say that an LCD with just a 60Hz refresh rate and an 8 MP selfie cam is not worth the money, but then the world of rugged smartphones, Nokia XR20 has pretty decent hardware that should make you happy for at least two years.
