Should the notification light of Nokia 7.2/6.2 be available for third-party apps

With Nokia 4.2 and 3.2, an old but useful Nokia smartphone feature was reinstalled, the breathing light, also known as the notification light. This light was also brought to the midrange class of the phones, Nokia 7.2 and 6.2, and although I’m not using it since I find it a distraction, many are. Sometimes, it is nice to be reminded about some unseen notification, and there seems to be a problem, according to many Nokia 7.2 users. The notification light on Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 does support preinstalled Google apps, but it is not notifying the unseen WhatsApp messages or some other third-party apps according to some users. The owners of Nokia phones from Sweden started a petition directed to HMD Global to fix the bug. If you find the lack of support for 3rd party apps for the use of notification light, you can sign the petition here. The guys need 1000 signatures to make the petition valid.

Although I am not using the notification light on 7.2, I find it useful. Also, I think that if there is some option available on the phone, it should be put to good use. In this case, hardware for the notification light is available and working rather well, so why not use it for all the apps.
