Nokia 1.3 picks the Android 11 Go update in Wave 1 rollout
|After Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia Mobile has ended up announcing Android 11 for yet another 1-series phone, i.e., the Nokia 1.3. The smartphone was launched last year with the Go edition of Android 10, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 215 processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage.
It is one of the few affordable devices that is promised to get the Android 12 Go whenever it comes out. For now, the device is receiving its first OS upgrade out of the two guaranteed feature updates. The Wave 1 availability of Android 11 Go was announced in a post on the community forum yesterday.
Surprisingly, Australia is the only region where Nokia Mobile seems to have received approval for the rollout. All the users in the Wave 1 should receive it by today, i.e., July 24. The other countries will be included in Wave 2, which usually starts a couple of weeks after Wave 1, and some markets might even receive it in between both waves.
That leaves Nokia Mobile with seven more devices to complete its Android 11 rollout. The list also includes the Nokia 1.4, Nokia 3.4, Nokia 5.3, and Nokia 5.4, which were supposed to receive by last month. The new roadmap is not valid anymore for these four phones since things did not go as planned. HMD Global is yet to give any response regarding the delay of updates.
