Nokia was Europe’s No.5 smartphone brand in Q2 2018
|Even though we are just a week away from ending Q3 and entering the fourth and, for most companies, the busiest quarter of the calendar year, Counterpoint Research posted this week their huge infographic about the smartphone and feature phone markets for Q2 2018.
As we already know, in Q2 of 2018, HMD Global shipped 4.5 million Nokia smartphones and was the No.9 smartphone brand globally. HMD also took 14% of the feature phone market, with 15.5 million units shipped, which was enough for the 3rd place globally.
Regionally, the only place HMD entered the top 5 in smartphones was in Europe. They took the 5th spot with 2% of the market share. In Q1 this year, HMD also took the No.5 place in Europe, as reported by IDC.
In terms of feature phones, HMD took the 3rd spot in India (8%), the 1st in Rest of Asia (20%), second spot in North America (18%), No.1 in Europe (37%) and number three in Middle East and Africa (14%).
The infographics are nicely done and easy to read, and I recommend to check them out at CounterpointResearch.com.
