New Nokia smartphones coming without AndroidOne brand

Nokia launched three new Android-powered smartphones, Nokia 1.3, 5.3, and 8.35G, which brought us a continuation of the Nordic design language. While some characteristic design features are still present on new phones, one is missing. Many noticed that the AndroidOne brand is missing at the back of Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 8.3, which should be a part of Google’s special smartphone family. Some probably opened a bottle of champagne and started celebrating the new software engagement, but the celebration didn’t last long.

Juho Sarvikas explained that the reason behind the removal of the AndroidOne branding is purely aesthetic. They wanted to keep the design visually clean, and the Nokia logo is just enough there. I can’t even see all the other inscriptions like the address of the designer, manufacturing country, and all the other markings on the official renders, and I’m glad that all of that is left out. It just looks bad and makes the phone look like it already has some scratches. Nokia Mobile was usually using letter color that wouldn’t make them stand out, but even then I didn’t like it.

So, Nokia 5.3 and 8.3 are still part of AndroidOne which mean that the owners should have a pure, secure and up to date phones with at least two large Android OS updates.
