Official: This is Nokia 6 (2018) – Global version
|HMD has launched the new version of the Nokia 6, on which they corrected all the shortcomings of the original model. Nokia 6 retained the same shape of the body, and it is still carved out of single Aluminum 6000 block. The biggest change is the two-tone anodizing coloring method of the body which gives it that nice look. The device still hasa 5.5-inch, Full HD IPS LCD screen, which is bright at direct sunlight and has high contrast. The phones camera has been updated with ZEISS optics. The main camera still has 16 MP sensor, aperture of f/2.0 while the front camera also has the same specs, an 8 MP sensor, but that will do great for capturing Bothie, which is now enabled here, as well as face unlock. Also, Nokia Pro camera comes with the 6 as well.
These camera options wouldn’t be possible without a stronger processing power, that obviously lacked in the original one. Nokia 6 uses Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor that makes this device 60% faster than its predecessor.
The device still has 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32 GB of internal memory which can be extended up to 128 GB with microSD cards. Another new thing is the USB-C port at the bottom, but Nokia 6 still kept 3.5 mm jack, so you don’t need to buy new headphones or an adapter. Nokia 6 still has a 3000 mAh battery but more energy efficient processor will ensure longevity. This time users will be able to fast charge the battery from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes.
Some things had to go and now Nokia 6 doesn’t have the dual but rather a single speaker. Dolby sound isn’t mentioned at all, but you will be able to record great sound thanks to the two microphones backed up with the Nokia OZO Audio software.
Here are the specs of the device:
- Dimensions: 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15mm
- Screen: 5.5” IPS LCD, full-HD (1920 x 1080, 16:9), Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3

Another great thing about the Nokia 6 is the coloring options. The device will be available in Black / Copper, White / Iron and Blue / Gold. Nokia 6 (2018), global version to be correct, will be available from in early April for a global average retail price of €279 for the 3/32GB version. Good news is that later we’ll see a 4GB RAM/64GB ROM version, but the price isn’t given.
