Nokia and HMD Global are coming to MWC 2023
|CES is the first major tech event of the year, giving us some glimpses of upcoming gadgets and technologies that are coming soon. However, since this event is mainly focused on the US market, many are eagerly waiting for the next big tech event, the MWC in Barcelona. This event is usually held at the end of February, and again this year it starts on February 27 and runs through March 3. Nokia is a standard exhibitor at the MWC and the networking giant will be there again.
As usual, Nokia has occupied space in hall three, where visitors can see all the new stuff from the world of networks and also some new Nokia branded products. Nokia’s CEO will be one of the keynote speakers there, giving some insights into the future of connectivity.
I have to say that I like that Nokia is dedicating some of its space to consumer gadgets with its brand. It almost feels like the old Nokia when you could look at different products in one place, from accessories to phones. Now it’s even better, as the Nokia booth will feature Nokia laptops, TVs and other devices.
HMD Global will also be attending MWC, but has rented a booth in Hall 7 (Hall 7 Booth 7B83), which is located at the very end of the exhibition area. The reason for this is that their products will most likely be showcased at Nokia’s booth, where Nokia Mobile employees can share their knowledge about the new products and services.
I will miss the Nokia house outside Hall 3, but times are changing and I want to see all Nokia brand products in one place. Well, the final trade show schedule is not yet available, so things may change. What concerns us all more than where Nokia Mobile is, is whether we will see anything more powerful than the Nokia X30 and all the standard entry-level phones at this event.
I still have not found HERE, Jolla or Withings in the exhibitor list, but some big names in the smartphone industry like Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Lenovo (Motorola), Sony and even Jio are there, so there will be many exciting things to see. Actually, Samsung is not waiting for the MWC and will unveil its flagship device in about 15 days.
I have been to MWC a couple of times, and I have to say it’s pretty exciting to see all the things there. I would spend hours wandering around the huge halls and there would still be plenty of gadgets to see. This place feels like Santa’s workshop for techies 🙂
