Nokia Mobile to launch two new phones, N139DL and N1374DL, with TracFone
In January 2019, Nokia Mobile, for the first time, forayed into this particular segment of carrier-locked phones in the US with Cricket Wireless and Verizon as the initial partners. Later in June during the same year, HMD Global expanded its presence with the Nokia 3.1 A for AT&T, but that turned out to be the only locked device on AT&T.
Since then, the company has announced eleven such phones. The most recent ones were the Nokia 8 V 5G UW, among the smartphones, and Nokia 2720 V Flip, the only locked feature phone, both on Verizon. This time, Nokia Mobile seems to be getting along with a different carrier for two new phones.
TracFone Wireless is on board for hosting the upcoming Nokia N1374DL (TA-1374) and Nokia N139DL on its network. Both the models have been added to the support page on the websites of TracFone and its subsidiary, Net10 Wireless. TracFone also has several other subsidiaries, but it cannot be said if these phones will be available through them.
The specific support pages for both phones currently show error 404. However, thanks to the FCC, some things about the Nokia N1374DL or TA-1374 are already out in the public eye. Interestingly, whatever details FCC has shared about this device is pretty much the same as Nokia X20 or X10.
Be it the CN110 battery model (4470/4370 mAh), the overall diagonal dimension of 167 mm, or the support for Wi-Fi 5 GHz and Bluetooth 5.1/5.0. So it might very well be another variant of the Nokia X10 or X20 reserved for TracFone, just like how the Nokia 8 V 5G UW is related to the Nokia 8.3 5G. Apart from that, the Nokia N1374DL will come with an 18 W charger.
The smartphone misses out on a laser engraved label at the back that means it might have another logo, possibly that of the carrier. The 5G NR bands that it supports are as follows: 2, 5, 25, 41, 66, 71, and 77. On the other hand, the Nokia N139DL, alongside the names of both these phones, remains a mystery for now.
Regarding their launch timeline, let us see if Nokia Mobile will take any advantage of the release date of the James Bond movie “No Time To Die” in the US, which is on October 8, to market the phones.
