HMD might bring more Nokia accessories and phones soon

Nokia is back and we got Nokia 6, 5, 3 and Nokia 3310 to be our desired objects. However, not all Nokia fans are satisfied with the capabilities of the presented phones. Some of them are waiting for something more, or even less than Nokia 3 can offer. HMD’s Global Marketing Officer Pekka Rantala gave an interview for Finnish mobiili.fi where he talked about the dedication of HMD to bring Nokia back to the market. He told them that the focus of HMD is 100% on the mobile phone devices, but interestingly on accessories that follow the phones. Maybe this is announcement for even bigger portfolio of the official accessories for the new Nokia devices.

He was also asked about the new phones (Nokia 9) that HMD is planning, but the answer wasn’t given. Instead, Rantala said that it is logical for HMD to follow the naming, and that after Nokia 6, 5 or 3 we could see Nokia 7, 8, 9 and even 2.

Therefore, this does not confirm anything that we already know from numerous unconfirmed sources, but it can give us an idea of what next can we expect from HMD. We recently heard the rumour that HMD and Xiaomi could eventually be working together in a matter of bringing the Xiaomi’s Surge S1 processor to (mid range, maybe low end?) Nokia phones. This would move HMD from Mediatek that is stubborn of working on the release of the latest Android versions to the current phones. Also, if the S1 processor is cheap enough, maybe low end phones like Nokia 3 (and future Nokia 2) could benefit of the same processing power and other specifications that are going to differentiate them.
