Official: Nokia 2.4 comes with dual camera, fingerprint sensor, 2-day battery life and promise of Android 11 & 12

Nokia Mobile today officially announced the new Nokia 2.4. The original Nokia 2 first appeared in 2017 and brought a big 4100mAh battery in a very affordable device. The Nokia 2.4 retains the signature 2-day battery life and brings improvements in design, camera features and features overall.

Basic specifications:

  • 6.5″ HD+ 20:9 1600x720p screen
  • MediaTek Helio P22
  • 2GB RAM + 32GB storage / 3GB + 64GB storage, microSD card slot
  • 13MP f/2.2 rear camera + 2MP depth sensor + LED flash
  • 4500mAh battery, 5W charging via MicroUSB port
  • 802.11 b/g/n, BT 5.0, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS+Beidou, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer
  • 2 mic, FM radio receiver, Google Assistant Button, Rear fingerprint sensor, IPX2 Ingress protection, power key (no LED)
  • Android 10
  • Price: 119 euro ( 139 USD, 10,280INR)

The designs remains similar to the Nokia 2.3, but we have a darker color palette and a fingerprint sensor of the back. The back still has the nice nano-texture we first saw on the Nokia 1.3 and overall makes the 2.4 looks like an attractive budget phone. On the front we have a large 6.5-inch HD+ display (20:9 1600*720 pixels) with a waterdrop notch where the 5MP front camera is located. The front also has the Nokia logo placed below the screen, so the device does have some bezels, but still looks like a good screen-to-body ratio.

Inside, Nokia Mobile bumped the battery capacity to 4500mAh that still chargers with a 5W charger and using the MicroUSB2.0 charging port. MediaTek’s Helio P22 is the SoC of choice, which is a solid SoC and it is combined with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage or 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via a MicoSD card slot. The device also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, BT5.0, GPS and NFC, meaning you can even use Google Pay on the Nokia 2 series now. There is also FM Radio receiver and a Google Assistant button.

On the back we have the main 13MP camera with a 2MP depth sensor and a single LED flash. Below the camera Nokia Mobile put a fingerprint sensor, which is the first time Nokia 2 series comes with a fingerprint sensor, if I’m not mistaken. The 2.4 comes with Android 10, but it will be updated to Android 11 and Android 12, together with 3 years of security updates.

The device will be available in three gorgeous colors Dusk (purple), Charcoal (black) and Fjord (blue). The Nokia 2.3 will be available globally by the end of September with 2/32GB and 3/64GB memory configuration starting at an average global retail price of 119 euro ( 139 USD, 10,280INR). Nokia Mobile also prepared a Clear Case for the 2.4 that will be available next month for 10 euro.
