Nokia 3.2, 4.2 and 9 come with Sensory’s facial recognition with 99.999% accuracy rate

Sensory, a company operating in the field of speech and vision Technologies, announced in an official press release that the latest Nokia Devices, the Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 PureView come with their TrulySecure facial recognition technology. The company claims that the system identifies users in less than a second and can differentiate individuals at a 99.999% accuracy rate. All data the system gathers is encrypted and stored on the device.

I was quite impressed with HMD’s lower end Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2. Not only do they look attractive and feel solid, they come with nice additions for around 150 euro phones. For example, a notification LED integrated into the power button, the Bix… I mean Google Assistant button is something new, the selfie notch, as HMD calls it, looks much better than the standard notch and has facial recognition via the front camera. Not to mention the camera app is feature packed as well.

Nokia 9 PureView is also an impressive device, especially at a reasonable price tag HMD is selling the device for. Considering it’s a flagship, maybe more advanced biometrical solutions (IRIS scanner?) could be implemented, but considering it also has a fingerprint sensor, it will be secure enough. For users of Nokia 3.2 with 16GB memory that don’t have a fingerprint sensor on their device, the TrulySecure unlocking system will be a great addition to the €120 device.

Other Nokia phones don’t have this tech and I don’t think they can get it via an update, because of the on-device encryption process. They could use Google’s Trusted Face if that option is available in the settings or a fingerprint sensor (if available) for extra security.
