Nokia Mobile not in the Android 11 Beta program
Nokia Beta Labs was first introduced by Nokia in 2007, for public testing of Symbian beta software, then it was renamed as Lumia Beta Apps until 2015 when it was discontinued. In 2017, HMD Global brought it back to life for the public to test the beta versions of Android OS for the Nokia Android smartphones.
For the first generation smartphones, Nokia Mobile pushed the Android 8 beta builds pretty actively. With the increase in the number of Nokia smartphones, HMD Global began choosing fewer smartphones for public beta testing. As a result, only Nokia 8.1 was chosen for Android 10 beta testing.
Coming to Android 11, it will bring new features like native screen recording, notification history, muting notifications during video, etc. And, it will also revamp some of the already available features. On June 10, 2020, Google announced the Android 11 beta 1. The stable version of Android 11 will release in Q3 2020.
As of now, 8 Google Pixel devices, 2 devices each from OnePlus, OPPO and Xiaomi, and 1 device each from POCO, Realme, Vivo, and iQOO are slated to receive or are already receiving the Android 11 beta 1 builds. However, there has been no announcement from HMD Global yet.
Maybe they will announce in the upcoming weeks, or there is also a possibility that HMD Global may decide to opt-out of the beta testing program this time. Anyways, we will get to know soon.
Till then, let us take a look at the list of eligible Nokia smartphones for stable Android 11:
– First OS upgrade:

– Final OS upgrade:
- Nokia C1 (Android 11 Go)
- Nokia C2 (Android 11 Go)
- Nokia 1 Plus (Android 11 Go)

- Nokia 2.3
- Nokia 3.2
- Nokia 4.2
- Nokia 6.2
- Nokia 7.2
- Nokia 8.1
- Nokia 9 PureView
The upgrade process to Android 11 for Nokia smartphones should start in Q3 2020. It is worth noting that Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 have not received Android 10 Go yet.
Please see that the Nokia smartphones which are carrier-locked in the US are not a part of the Android One family, and come with an upgrade window of only 18 months. Hence, they are not guaranteed to get Android 11. Also, none of the eligible devices have received Android 10 yet.
Since, HMD Global has possibly wound up its software department in China, the devices that were exclusively available in China (and Taiwan) have not received any updates/upgrades since June, 2019. Thus, those devices have the least chance to upgrade to Android 11.
