Nokia Mobile sponsoring first international skateboarding medalist Jean-marc Johannes
|
Nokia has a long tradition in sponsoring professional athletes. Its former Devices and Services department did a wonderful job in promoting different sports, and Nokia Mobile continued the same tradition by announcing another sponsorship of a new athlete. This time it is not the basketball player, a cricket team or a player of any other conventional sport. Nokia Mobile is sponsoring first international skateboarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalist from South Africa, Jean-marc Johannes, which is, by the way, also a 2X World Record holder.
Thank you Nokia mobile for supporting me on this journey to 2020! It is a dream come true to be part of the SLS Global open athletes and capturing every step of the way ???

This is interesting because skateboarding became an Olympic sport, and it will be featured in the next Summer Olympic games which are scheduled for 2020 in Tokyo. Johannes will be sharing photos of his journey to the Olympic games from his Nokia 9 PureView. The first step is SLSOpen and after it, and we’ll see where will Johannes take us next. Looking forward to seeing shots he takes from all the skateboarding competitions.
Do you approve this kind of sponsorship? What sport do you think fits the Nokia logo perfectly?
