Android Q Beta available for Nokia 8.1

At today’s Google I/O 2019 event, that you can check here, Google announced that Android Q beta will be available for more device, 21 devices to be precise, from 13 brands, including the Nokia 8.1.

HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas announced via Twitter that Android Q Beta is available for the Nokia 8.1. To download the update you have to visit Nokia Mobile’s developer portal, register and follow the instructions there. At the moment, the Android Q beta is available only via sideloading (flashing) and is supported for Nokia 8.1 device models: TA-1119, TA-1121 and TA-1128, with the 00WW software image.

Keep in mind that this is not for regular users but developers and advanced users. HMD doesn’t offer rollback to Pie yet (should be available by 16th May) and a failure in flashing the device will render the phone unusable. Before installing, do check the terms of service.

If any developers or/and enthusiasts decide to install Q, do leave some thoughts about Google’s new Android OS version and how it behaves on Nokia 8.1 down below. ๐Ÿ™‚
