Nokia G50 5G shows up in more official marketing images before the launch

Nokia G50Nokia Mobile seems to have little to no control over the leaks of its Punisher, the Nokia G50, which is on its way to becoming the most affordable 5G Nokia phone. About a week ago, the company itself disclosed the smartphone in a short video on Instagram. Now, Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de has revealed some official marketing pictures featuring the Nokia G50.

One of the pictures depicts that Nokia Mobile will bundle the device with the Nokia Power Earbuds Lite as a part of a combo offer. Other than that, in terms of the exterior design, the phone looks just like another Nokia G10 donning new colours, namely, Midnight Sun and Blue. Like any other G-series phone, the fingerprint scanner is embedded into the power button.

The Nokia G50 sports a display with a V-notch and a non-ZEISS triple camera array with a 48 MP primary sensor at the back. HMD Global seems to have chosen the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G platform paired with Android 11 for the fourth time in a single year to power the G50.

Backed by a 4850 mAh battery and a 10 W charger, the Punisher packs 4 GB of RAM with either 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. Nokia G50 might start at £207 (€239, ₹21220, US$283) and will also be available in a Forest Black colour.

The specifications seem average for most parts, but nowadays, the Nokia phones look increasingly similar, and somewhere I feel that the design needs an overhaul. A decision like dropping from punch-hole displays on the Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 5.4 to waterdrop notch on the Nokia G20 and Nokia G50 is questionable, in my opinion.

Not that it is of any serious concern, but the design seems to take a step backward. What are your thoughts on this?
