The 8.3 5G is a nicely designed device with soft edges and a slightly curved backed. On the front we have a 6.81-inch FullHD+ PureDisplay with a punch hole where the 24MP camera with ZEISS optics is located. The fingerprint sensor is also the power button located at the standard right side of the device. The bottom is reserved for the USB Type C port with 18W charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has a hybrid dual nano SIM / microSD card slot. The device also has a Google Assistant button and supports NFC.
On the back we find a nicely designed circular camera housing that features four cameras. The primary camera comes with an 64MP (f/1.89) sensor, while we also have an ultra-wide 12MP (f/2.2, 120° FOV) camera, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor. The ZEISS logo is placed in the center of the circular housing. I like this detail a lot, because it is something distinctive compared to all the other circular camera housing we can find on the market.
Nokia 8.3 5G is finally a device that is also specs packed, in terms of the use of latest components available on the market. The 8.3 5G comes with the Snapdragon 765G SoC and supports 5G. In fact, the 765G is the first SoC from Qualcomm with integrated 5G radio. That is coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, that is expandable via the already mentioned MicroSD card slot. Other features include OZO Audio, FM Radio, EIS and Video HDR.
At 220 grams, Nokia 8.3 5G leaves probably a more than solid feel in the hands, but Nokia Mobile packed a 4500mAh battery inside this boy, which isn’t strange considering the display size and the fact that we are still early in 5G radio. The device comes with Android 10 out-of-the-box, and Nokia Mobile promises Android 11 update, 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security updates. The device will be available in the “Polar Night” color.
