New Nokia Windows 11 laptop and Android 11 Smart TVs launching soon
|Apart from licensing its brand to HMD Global for phones and tablets, Nokia has also partnered with four other companies to bring consumer products across the globe. One such company is the Indian e-commerce major called Flipkart. It has been utilising the Nokia brand in the Smart TV, Android TV box, laptop, air-conditioners, and earphones segment.
Smart TVs were the first that came out of this licensing agreement in December 2019. It was followed by the launch of the second generation Nokia Smart TVs last year in October. Now, Flipkart will launch the next-gen of Nokia Smart TVs on the occasion of the Big Billion Days Sales. This time the operating system will be Android TV 11.
Interestingly, JBL, the one responsible for the sound system on the first-gen TVs, is also back on board after Japan’s Onkyo handled it on the second-gen TVs. The teaser also shows the design of the TV with a silver-coloured pedestal.
One of the TVs with the model number 55UHDADNDT8P should be coming with a 55-inch UHD 4K LED display panel. Dixon Technologies is making this model, which has already picked the BIS certification.
Now, coming to the laptops. The Nokia PureBook X14, which was announced last year in December, marked the return of the Nokia brand to the laptops market. Before its launch, a total of nine different laptop models got homologated on BIS. This year, four new models appeared in another certification with a different manufacturer, but none of them have seen the light of the day yet.
Well, Flipkart will finally launch a new Nokia laptop powered by the latest version of Windows, i.e., Windows 11. One of the main highlights is the option to enable the camera shutter, which you can use to cover your webcam when it is not needed. There is also some Dolby technology implemented in the laptop, as its logo is visible on the left side above the keyboard.
Compared to the PureBook X14, the new Nokia laptop already seems to have a couple of improvements on the hardware front. The keyboard includes the number pad on the right side, and the trackpad has dedicated left- and right-click buttons. On the left side, there is an HDMI port, USB Type-C port, and charging port.
Flipkart has not disclosed the launch date of these new Nokia products yet, but a rough guess can be made based on the availability date of Windows 11, which is October 5. So, the laptop might be coming around that time.
