Nokia XR20 pre-orders in India begin from October 20, Nokia C30 to join-in
|It has been quite a while since Nokia Mobile presented anything above the price segment of ₹15500 in India. There were slight hints about the Nokia X20 and Nokia X10 making their way to the country when they picked the BIS certification in July. However, a few months ago, HMD Global made it clear that the Nokia XR20 will be the first 5G Nokia smartphone in India.
Yesterday, Nokia Mobile placed a banner on the home page of the Indian site announcing the pre-orders of the Nokia XR20, and even its product page alongside that of the Nokia C30 went live. The banner stated that the Nokia XR20 will come bundled with the Nokia Power Earbuds Lite and a 1-year screen damage protection plan at no extra cost during the pre-book period.
For some reason, the banner and the product links were removed this morning, but Nokia Mobile India revealed the pre-booking date of the Nokia XR20, which is October 20, in a tweet. The removed product page confirmed that only the higher memory variant (6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory) of the Nokia XR20 will be available in both Granite and Ultra Blue colours.
This variant costs about AED 1999 in the UAE and $549 in the US, i.e., around ₹41000. So, a similar price can be expected in India as well.
On the other hand, the Nokia C30 should be hitting the shelves without the pre-book period at the same time. It is worth noting that the Indian variant is different from the International variant. While the International variant is based on the Android 11 Go edition and has either 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM, the Indian variant will operate on a full-fledged version of Android 11 and brings either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage onboard.
It will be available in Green and White colours. Given that the 3 GB RAM variant of the Nokia C20 Plus costs ₹9999 without the Jio benefits, the Nokia C30 may not cost any lower than that. Nokia Mobile aims to top that price with a 1-year replacement guarantee. The device will also be eligible for the 10% price support and other benefits under the Jio Exclusive program.
The pre-Diwali window is what Nokia Mobile is targeting for introducing the Nokia XR20, but the company is not showing any signs of catering to the price range of ₹15000 to ₹30000. Hopefully, Nokia Mobile will have some surprise product launches (Nokia X20 and Nokia X10) planned other than the Nokia XR20 and Nokia C30.
