Nokia 2 on Nougat gets August security patch

The Nokia 2 from 2017 started receiving the August security update. There is a distinction to be made when talking about the Nokia 2 between the versions running Android Nougat and the ones updated to Android 8.1 Oreo.

The upgrade from Nougat to Oreo is at the moment not available for Nokia 2 users, but Nokia Mobile is working on making the option available again. The August patch for Nokia 2 on Nougat brings just the August security update from Google and is 80MB in size. The update has been available for the Oreo-running Nokia 2 since 20th of last month.

The software support for the Nokia 2 will end in November this year, so users should start thinking about upgrading to something that will continue to be supported.
