Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 3.1 Plus (Cricket) receiving June 2020 security update

Nokia Mobile is now rolling out the June 2020 security update for Nokia 5.1 Plus, while Cricket Wireless is rolling out the same for Nokia 3.1 Plus (Cricket) in the US.

Nokia 3.1 Plus for Cricket, which was made by Nokia Mobile exclusively for the US market, is receiving a new software version 00N0_1_26P. To receive the new update, your device needs to run on the software version 00N0_1_26O. The update changelog mentions nothing more than the new security patch. The update size is not known to us.

Users are still waiting for the Android 10 update for their carrier-locked Nokia smartphones in the US. However, the updates for these devices are controlled by the carrier and since they are not a part of the Android One program, the upgrade window stays open for only 18 months.

Similarly, for Nokia 5.1 Plus, the new update brings only the June security patch. The update package is 24.16 MB large. The update is rolling out in India and should arrive for your device soon.
