Nokia 8 gets new Pie build and October patch, alongside Nokia 5.1

The 2017 flagship device Nokia 8 started receiving a new monthly update. The update for October brings a new version of Android 9 Pie (V5.15G), alongside the security patch for October 2019 from Google. The update is 89.8MB in size.

Just like Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, with the October update Nokia 8 enters the announced quarterly release cycle of security updates that will go on till October 2020.

Nokia 5.1 also got the October 2019 security patch, with an update that was 73.2MB in size. According to our update tracker, Nokia 5.1 is the 16th globally available Nokia smartphone that started receiving the October update, out of 23, now 25 globally available Nokia smartphones including Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2.
