Nokia is planning to acquire Elenion Technologies

Nokia announced that it has a plan of acquiring Elenion, a company that should improve the economics of advanced optical connectivity solutions. Elenion Technologies is a US-based company founded in 2014 that developed a platform for silicon photonics that should bring the lower cost per bit for the operators. Nokia plans to acquire key technology and commercial assets which will improve Nokia’s position on the market and even broaden it more. <the solution that Elenion is offering can be used in the existing Nokia’s portfolio that covers the 5G, cloud and data center networking.

The planned transaction will be finished by the end of Q1 2020. The price has not yet been revealed, and probably never will.
