Nokia 2 on Nougat starts receiving the October 2019 security update
Nokia Mobile started releasing the monthly update for October for the Nokia 2 running on Android Nougat. Because of low end hardware, Nokia Mobile decided to leave the Nokia 2 on Nougat, but offer customers the option to update to Android 8.1 Oreo manually. That has split the Nokia 2 user base in two, while at the moment the Oreo update still isn’t possible to get.

The update for Nokia 2 based on Android 7 is almost 80MB in size and brings just the security patch for October 2019 from Google. Nokia 2 will soon end with its lifecycle of receiving updates. As Nokia Mobile earlier announced, starting from November 2019, Nokia 2 will stop receiving security updates and users should consider switching to another smartphone.
