Official: Nokia Media Streamer launched in India for ₹ 3499, to be available on Flipkart
The brand licensing agreement between Nokia and Flipkart looks quite fruitful as the latter has been expanding the Nokia branded portfolio very rapidly. Till now, they have been targeting the Smart TV market, but now they are stepping into a new product category, which is the Streaming Device market.
Today, Flipkart has launched the new Nokia Media Streamer in India for ₹ 3,499 (€39, $47), and it is slated to go on sale starting August 28. The streaming device aims to bring the smart TV experience to a non-smart television at a fraction of the cost of a Smart TV. The Nokia Media Streamer is powered by the Android 9.0 and has the capability to support up to Full-HD streaming output.
It will use the HDMI port to connect to the TV, the WiFi to connect to the Internet, and it has multi I/O antenna for better reception. Also, it comes with the support of Dolby Audio, even for non-Dolby enabled TVs. The device is backed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Inside, there is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and the Mali 450 GPU. The remote control comes with dedicated hotkeys for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Zee5, along with the usual power button, navigation, and volume controls including a mute button at the end.
