Nokia G50 looks different on TENAA, pops with SD 480 5G on Geekbench
|The last few days have been a bit too much about the Nokia G50, especially with the amount of information arising from various sources almost every day. Well, today’s post is no different. The smartphone picked its first certification in China yesterday from TENAA, which helped fill a few more gaps about its specifications.
However, it is only today that its real-life photos appeared on TENAA. And you might notice that something does not match with the Nokia G50 that we have seen on the official marketing pictures or the video. It is the camera module. The difference is the coloured center of the camera module on TENAA compared to the all-black module with just a coloured circle on the marketing pictures.
With that coloured center, the camera module looks the same as the Nokia C5 Endi and is also pretty close to the Nokia 3.4. The photos on TENAA also show a button-like structure above the Google Assistant button (remappable in China.) However, that just might be the SIM tray which has not been inserted completely and is protruding outside the body.
Although this has never happened before, it might be a design change on the Chinese variant of the G50, but then the same variant (TA-1361) is also heading to Russia. So, this is something that we will come to know only when HMD Global announces the Nokia G50.
Also, Geekbench published the first test result of the Nokia G50. With Android 11 and 4 GB of RAM, the device recorded a single-core score of 509, a multi-core score of 1560, and an OpenCL score of 1072. And yes, the processor is SM4350, which is the model number for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G platform. Six cores are clocked at 1.8 GHz and the other two at 2 GHz.
Apart from the Nokia G50, the only other upcoming device that we have been hearing about is the tablet, the Nokia T20. And nothing at all about the Nokia G300 or the Nokia X100, which is weird.
